VIDEO PRESENTATION OF THE WOMEN’S TESTIMONIES

3 July 2024

On March 7, 2024, the video Beyond the Label was presented at the House of Rights, with testimonies from women recorded by the national production company “Protline”.

The video involves the testimony of six Guinean women who defy stereotypes, showing that women are capable of performing tasks that many think only men can do

Screening of the video “Beyond the label”

In the video, the women recounted their life experiences, motivations and the challenges they face in their careers. They also talked about the difficulties they face and messages of discouragement, especially from women.

Accompanying the video, the impressed participants praised these women for the way they approach their tasks without any prejudice.

For their part, the women who managed to go beyond the label called on their partners to always have the courage to share the same tasks with men, encouraging them with the phrase “anything a man can do, a woman can do too”.

Paula Silva de Melo, President of AMPROCS

Paula Silva Melo, president of the Association of Professional Women in the Media (AMPROCS), advised women to remain determined and focused on the challenges ahead, to leave their comfort zones adorned with the principle of submission and fear, to challenge standards that have defined women since the dawn of humanity; that women are limited in certain professions. For example: carpenter, mechanic, blacksmith, etc…

To close her short recommendation, the president of AMPROCS advised women to always associate their activities with school.

It should be noted that not all the planned activities were completed:

The “bicia dirito” website was poorly used.

There is also the possibility of continuing with the radio programs and also promoting more training.

However, AMPROCS members are satisfied because it was a rich and innovative experience that enriched them professionally and personally and gave the organization more visibility.
