This Law establishes the legal framework applicable to government policy in relation to information and communication technology (ICT) services and networks, as well as related resources and services. It defines the powers of the national regulatory authority with the following objectives:
- Promote the development of ICTs in Guinea-Bissau by defining a legal framework that meets the requirements of liberalization and competition.
- To highlight the role of ICT as a fundamental tool for economic and social development.
- Create favorable conditions for the emergence and development of a competitive telecommunications sector, facilitating access to services at better prices.
- Promoting technological innovations and the use of technology in communications.
