As part of the implementation of the project to promote press freedom and access to quality information in Guinea-Bissau, the Media Foundation for West Africa initialed a memorandum with ten media organizations in Guinea-Bissau, aimed at building capacity and providing technical assistance.
There are a total of seven private radio stations, including Rádio Jovem, Rádio Sol Mansi, Rádio Bomlolom, Rádio Capital, Rádio Mulher de Bafatá, Rádio Kasumai de São-Domingo and Rádio Papagaio de Buba, the latter of which are community radio stations.
The project directly supports two newspapers, Jornal Última Hora and Jornal O democrata. Lastly, the CAP-GB beneficiaries include the online press.
The memorandum signing ceremony took place in Bissau on June 22, 2022 at the House of Rights and was attended by the leaders of the beneficiary media outlets, the European Union representative and the project team.
