The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), in partnership with Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and the Fondation Hirondelle (FH), invites experienced consultants to develop and produce a high-quality documentary as part of its European Union-funded project: “Promoting and Protecting Democracy by Safeguarding Freedom of Opinion and Expression and Combating Mis/Disinformation in Guinea-Bissau.”
As part of the effort to document and give visibility to the impact of this 18-month initiative, we are looking for experienced and creative consultants capable of telling this story in an engaging and visually appealing way. The documentary will highlight the main results achieved and capture the perspectives of the beneficiaries. It will also highlight the efforts made to strengthen press freedom and combat mis/disinformation and hate speech in Guinea-Bissau. The consultancy will be carried out over a period of 5 to 7 weeks, during the final phase of the project.
The ideal candidate (individual or team) should meet the following criteria:
- Proven experience in documentary production
- Strongstorytelling and visual communication skills
- Experience in development or media-related projects
- Familiarity with the Guinea-Bissau or West African context (advantage)
- Proficiency in Portuguese and/or English.
